Every child receiving Baptism must have one, and may have up to two Christian godparents. If you choose to have two godparents, one must be male and one must be female. In order to be a godparent, one must be a confirmed, Catholic Christian who is at least 16 years of age, and who faithfully practices and believes in the Catholic faith as a participating member of a parish community.
A baptized, non-Catholic Christian may be a Christian witness at your child's baptism and serve as one of the godparents, but at least one godparent must meet the above requirements.
Be sure that the godparents you have chosen for your child complete and submit the form, "Registration for Godparents and Sponsors," found on the parish website.
