Registration for Confirmation Sponsors

We are very grateful for your willingness to be Confirmation sponsor. Being a sponsor is a great responsibility and privilege, but God always gives His people what they need to accomplish the task He gives them, and He will do the same for you. In order to be a sponsor for Confirmation, you must yourself be a confirmed, Catholic Christian who is at least 16 years of age and who faithfully practices and believes in the Catholic faith as a participating member of a parish community. Spiritual perfection is neither required nor expected; however, living in a way that stands in obstinate opposition to Church teaching is an automatic disqualifier for being a sponsor. We encourage you to pray for your candidate daily, especially as they prepare to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Strive to live your life in such a way that sets a good example for your candidate on how to follow the Lord Jesus. The role of being a Catholic sponsor is a very serious one, and it must be taken seriously. We look forward to working alongside you as we support and pray for all of our candidates for Confirmation.

Confirmation Sponsors
In order to be a sponsor for Confirmation, one must be a confirmed, Catholic Christian who is at least 16 years of age and who faithfully practices and believes in the Catholic faith as a participating member of a parish community. While you are not expected to already be a saint, you cannot be living your life in a way that directly contravenes Church teaching. So for example, you are expected to attend Mass every weekend, and if you are married, you must be married in the Catholic Church. You should pray for your candidate daily, both before their Confirmation and after, and you should live your life in such a way that sets a good example for your candidate on how to follow Christ.
